Action Speaks Louder is a publication from the Ontario Public Interest Research Group (OPIRG) - Toronto, a volunteer-driven, anti-oppression organization at the University of Toronto. Our mandate is to facilitate education, research, and action around issues of social and environmental justice. We belong to an international network of Public Interest Research Groups (PIRGs), including ten others in Ontario.
Action Speaks Louder serves as a forum for activists to explain and analyze the current political climate on campus and in the city, and we are currently accepting submissions on a rolling basis. Selected pieces will be distributed online through our website and shared widely with our volunteers and students both at the University of Toronto and in the broader community.
In past issues, we have published articles about austerity measures, the commodification of education, anti-racist activism, sex work decriminalization, anti-mining organizing, Indigenous sovereignty and solidarity, anti-poverty mobilizing, direct action tactics, the occupy movement, migrant justice, anti-imperialism, and much more. You can check out our past publications on our website. We work with authors to develop the article, with input from our editorial collective. Selected submissions are eligible for an honoraria.
Please feel free to get in touch with the Action Speaks Louder Editorial Collective at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any additional questions or concerns.
